8 Weeks Down, 32 To Go !!

WOW... I can't wait until that is flipped around at least!!



Baby Holland at 8 Weeks:

• Baby is the size of a Raspberry! About .63 inches long & weighs about .04 oz. Growing about a millimeter each day!
• Starting to grow taste buds :)

Mommy at 8 Weeks:

• The crazy pregnancy dreams have already started... so strange!
• Lot's of cramping - uterus has to get bigger so baby can get bigger!
• Heartburn.... I knew it was coming soon, I just didn't want it to be here quite yet :(



OB Appointment #1 - January 09, 2012

 

I guess this is as good a place to start off as any! Our first Dr.'s appointment was on January 9, 2012.  I was nervous, I had this overwhelming fear that I would get there and they would do the ultra sound & there would be nothing in there or something would be wrong.  I was nervous but ready to see the baby, ready to get our real due date & to make sure the heartbeat was good.  Once we got in the room, they started the ultrasound up & there was little tiny Baby Holland.  We could see the head, the feet, arms, and even the flickering heartbeat (which was at 165 bpm - perfect!) I was finally at ease knowing Baby Holland was in doing just great in there, and I'm pretty sure Jason was at ease as well knowing that I wasn't going to be worrying anymore.

Due Date: August 22, 2012

Baby Holland at 7 weeks:

• About .51 inches long
• Generates about 100 new brain cells each minute
• Developing a permanent set of kidneys
• Arm & leg joints are now forming

Mommy at 7 weeks:

• No morning sickness yet (woohoo!!), just a little queasy feeling in the evenings... or when I don't eat for a long time.
• Fruits, Veggies, Salads, Yogurts, Juices... all sound awesome :)
• Anything with a strong smell, that's hot, or a weird texture.... no thank you!!
• Apparently pregnancy = bloating during the first trimester...blah.

I wanted to take the time out to begin writing about the pregnancy, Baby Holland, Mommy & Daddy, and any other information we receive that we think everyone should know! It's, at times, very difficult to make the phone calls to 4 sets of parents, Grandma's & Grandpa's, Aunts & Uncles, Brothers & Sisters, and friends, so I thought if we created a website/blog where everyone could take a look and see whats going on at the same time - then everyone would be caught up on all the news! This website also allows you to become a "follower" of this page, that way when ever it is updated, you will receive an email notifying you of the update, then you can click & catch up with Baby Holland, Mommy & Daddy!
